My dearest love, my beautiful daughter,
So long has this life seemed, lost in the endless days passing, the ceaseless sunsets with no meaning. I sit here in the darkness of night, crimson tears falling from my eyes as my heart calls out to you.
I thought myself forever alone in this world, existing somewhere between life and death, between the darkness and light for no other reason than to suffer the empty beating of my heart. So often I longed for Death’s sweet kiss, to be set free from the sorrow that dwelled within my soul.
I sought that which might give me life in this world but found instead, only disappointment. The holding of an empty hand or the cold lifeless kiss of those who claimed love had only sharped the wrongness of my every breath.
Broken and alone, ensconced in a desolate cemetery wishing a catafalque for my eternal slumber so as to escape a dream that would never come true. My eyes, then drawn to the heavens, looked through the endless tears into a midnight sky were a blood red moon shone with such an intensity I thought surely that my vision would never return.
My heart stopped beating then in that moment, my lungs ceased to rise and fall in the cruel mockery of living, the last tear fell from my eyes and all existence paused as if waiting for permission to continue its endless journey through time.
The tear shattered like broken glass and a single heart beats sent a ripple across all of reality. The next beat was not mine alone but that of two hearts beating inseparably, yours and mine. You had begun your awakening into the Darkness my love and could join me in this world.
I know now that I am no longer alone, that the reason for my existence is to have again the love of my daughter, my lover, my wife. The Fates having once again failed at keeping us apart, at denying us our forbidden love, for you had been born into the world, not of my flesh yet forever my daughter.
I sit in the Darkness of night waiting for you now to join me so that we may once again know the love and life that we have shared for countless centuries.
Come take my hand, my heart, my soul, come walk with me towards the eternal Darkness that we may share again a love that defies convention, a love that will carry us again into the next life and every life thereafter.
